ABOUT
- About the BEEP Fund Ltd
The BEEP Fund was set up in April 1994
as an addition to the existing Penrith and District Accident Scheme.
NEWS -
Recent incidents
We are already going into local schools
to teach youngsters, especially those about to start driving,
about basic resuscitation and first aid measures at the scene
of a road traffic accident. The plan is for this programme to
expand into regular training sessions.
GIVING
- Donations and gifts
A grand total of over £100,000 has
been raised since 1994, thanks to the extreme generosity and hard
work of local people. The vehicle is fully operational and in
constant daily use. However, it is estimated that the running
costs of the vehicle and equipment plus the costs of training
come to over £20,000 each year so we need to continue to
raise funds to keep the service on the road.
PICS
- Pictures of incidents
We try to take a small number of pictures
when we attend incidents but casualty care takes absolute priority.
• Pictures are useful as they can be sent with the casualty
to hospital to give the doctors and nurses some idea of what the
accident was like and the mechanisms of injury.
• They are also a useful record of the incident.
• We can use them as a tool for teaching and during fundraising
talks.
